A Few Food Brews

Winter has arrived. We've had snow, we've had ice, but we haven't had good beer! Until now, that is. I've found a few good brews to try out this cold wintry season. If you get the chance, and love beer the way that I do, give these a taste.

New Career - New Path to life.

Back at the end of June, I started a new job which has kept me very occupied with lots of work, overtime, new friends, new challenges, and a new career. For those who don't know, I've been working with trains, conducting maintenance and upgrades to the new Kawasaki M-8 Passenger Cars. It's been an awesome journey thus far, love the challenge, and the opportunity.

Speaking of Treehouses

The Minister's Treehouse took 11 years to build, and it was completed without any previous design or blueprints. Around 10,000 square feet in size, The Minister's Tree house, in Crossville, Tenn., was intended to simply be a tree house until it became a church when builder Horace Burgess gave his life to God.

Churches come in many shapes and sizes. From inflatable houses of worship to churches that can be parachuted into areas of combat, the diversity of building design is certainly intriguing. And to add to the mix, today, we bring you the highly uncommon tree house chapel.
The 100-foot building, called The Ministers Treehouse, was built in Crossville, Tennessee, over a period of 11 years. Unlike other houses of worship that are meticulously plotted and blueprinted, this particular building was constructed without any solidified plans.
Rather than stain-glass windows and perfected structure, it features wooden panels and is built you guessed it around seven trees. Inside, the church is about 10,000 square feet, but its exact dimensions arent known.

El Coqui

Jessie & I are planning on getting matching tattoos for remembrance of our honeymoon in Puerto Rico. We are going to be getting something similar to this little guy here, a tree frog. The Coqui, is a native tree frog to Puerto Rico, and is named for the sound he makes. "Co-Key"

Crafty Fellow

If you have the read the About the Author page here on my site, you will have learned a tiny bit of the crafty creative side of our family. Well, that isn't even the tip of the iceberg, I was recently married, and I gave the task of coming up with an idea for centerpieces for our tables to my grandfather, Roger. He ran with the idea, and came up with some beautiful works of art! We had 8 tables, and some odd sized pieces for him to make. They were gorgeous! We could not have been happier. If you like what you see here, please look at his website to see more works of art. Roger's Creative Originals

He has many different types of crafts, from seashells, to photo frames. Check it out! He also does craft shows all over New England. Be sure to go see his work!

Ultimate Tree House

The Steampunk Tree House, located in Delaware at the Dogfish Head Brewery. This 40 ton steel structure was first created in California for a freak festival in 2007. After the festival, it was left abandoned, and was purchased by the brewery for $1.00. It of course had to be transported across country, and installed on their property. It now is served as a conference room, complete with string lighting and a wood burning stove.

Meeting of the Minds

I came across this photo while doing some web browsing on other blogs, this essentially was the largest meeting between brilliant people to date. The Solvay Conference in 1927 had many of the best chemists to talk about Electrons & Photons. Recognize some names? Any relation? We can only wonder.

Baseball Pool?

This brings a whole new meaning to a baseball pool. Clearwater, Florida's Thrashers were on the road when the storms hit their field the other day, thank god...I think you'd call this a drown out? "Pop fly to Shallow Left!" HA! Luckily, the field drained within 24 hours and the grounds crew were able to dry & maintain the field before the team came home.

Metal Mania!!

If you know me, you know I like METAL! An up and coming 4 piece metal band out of Bennington, VT is catching on in many ways, from their tunes, to their logo, and now their merchandise. Head on over to their facebook page and check these guys out! Sworn to Remember They've got CD's, vinyl decals and shirts for sale. Be sure to check their tour schedule, and see when they're playing a venue near you! Be sure to grab some merch & tell them who sent you!

Up A Pole!

Don't try this at home, a Czech woman that was stoned out of her mind, thought it would be a brilliant idea to climb the utility pole. She stayed up there for 3 hours telling police she was hallucinating thinking it was a bridge. True Story.

The future of blogs

Mobile blogging on the go is a must these days, whether I'm home or on the road, I'll be able to update the pages.

Call it Karma, Not to be Clucked With.

So the Mets were hosting the Yankees at Citi Field in Flushing, NY this weekend to try and pick up the pieces after being swept in the Bronx just a week ago, well a week later, they have failed again. Just a day after Mets pitcher Frank Francisco called the Yankees players "Chickens", the Yanks bats jumped all over that statement taking 2 out of 3 games in this series, and winning the season Subway Series 5-1. Call it Karma, but the Mets placed Francisco on the DL this morning as well....who's the chicken now? Enjoy the photo of the Empire State Building, as it was lit up in Yankees & Mets colors this weekend!
